Kraken Launches Commission-Free Trading for U.S.-Listed Stocks and ETFs

Kraken has launched commission-free trading for over 11,000 U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs in select states. This service enables clients to manage both equities and cryptocurrencies in one platform. The offering features reinvestment options, fractional trading, and a streamlined experience. Kraken plans to expand this service across more states and internationally soon.

Kraken has announced the launch of commission-free trading on over 11,000 U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs, marking its entry into the equities market. This initiative aims to enhance financial access by allowing select U.S. clients to trade both digital assets and traditional equities from one platform. Initially, clients from nine U.S. states and the District of Columbia can participate, with plans to expand access nationwide.

This new service enables Kraken clients to manage an array of assets including stocks, cryptocurrencies, cash, and stablecoins seamlessly. Users can utilise Kraken’s platforms, including mobile apps and the web interface, to transition effortlessly between asset types. Key features include the ability to reinvest earnings immediately, engage in fractional trading to gain access to expensive stocks, and enjoy a consolidated trading experience.

Kraken Securities, a regulated entity under FINRA, is providing the trading services, solidifying Kraken’s role in bridging traditional finance and digital currencies. Arjun Sethi, Kraken’s Co-CEO, indicated that integrating equities is a strategic evolution, facilitating asset tokenization and a comprehensive trading infrastructure around blockchain technology.

Further expansion is anticipated, with plans to introduce stock trading access to clients in additional U.S. states, followed by international markets such as the U.K., Europe, and Australia. For more details regarding Kraken’s stock and ETF trading offerings, prospective clients can visit the U.S. equities homepage and begin the registration process to open an account.
