Tron (TRX) Surges Ahead While Bitcoin and Ethereum Decline

Tron (TRX) has seen a 2.9% price increase within 24 hours, outperforming Bitcoin and Ethereum, which declined by 0.5% and 2.0%, respectively. Despite a 5.6% drop in trading volume, TRX has shown strong resilience with a notable price surge of over 10.4% in the past week. Founder Justin Sun anticipates significant market capitalisation growth in Q2 2025, indicating long-term potential for the cryptocurrency.

Despite a generally bearish sentiment in the cryptocurrency market, Tron (TRX), the eighth-largest cryptocurrency, has stepped into the limelight. In the last 24 hours, Tron has managed to decouple from Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), which both experienced price declines.

Currently, TRX is priced at $0.2548, reflecting a 2.9% increase within the past day. According to CoinMarketCap data, Tron has emerged as the most significant gainer among the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation, while Bitcoin and Ethereum registered drops of 0.5% and 2.0%, respectively.

However, it is noted that Tron’s trading volume has diminished by 5.6%, amounting to $568 million. The recent rally in TRX price marks a departure from its previous consolidation phase. The trading session commenced with TRX at $0.246, reinforcing the breakout trend on reaching and surpassing $0.25, culminating in a peak price of $0.2548. Over the prior week, Tron has surged over 10.4%, highlighting its robustness compared to BTC and ETH, which rose by 9.6% and 6.9%, respectively.

Justin Sun, the founder of Tron, has made predictions regarding a significant rally for TRX in Q2 of 2025, anticipating a new all-time high for the altcoin’s market capitalisation, currently set at $241 billion. Additionally, there are expectations that the market capitalisations of USDT on the Tron network and its stablecoin, USDD, could drive TRX’s value higher, emphasising long-term ecosystem growth rather than mere speculative trends.

Given the increasing sentiment around exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the altcoin sector, there is speculation that Tron could be among the next cryptocurrencies to introduce an ETF, further boosting its market presence and investor interest.
