Kraken Expands Trading Services with Stocks, ETFs, and FX Futures

Kraken has expanded its trading services to include stocks, ETFs, and FX perpetual futures. Customers in several U.S. states can now access 11,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs, with plans for wider national and international rollout. The exchange has also introduced leveraged FX trading, and is preparing for an IPO in early 2026 following recent regulatory challenges with the SEC.

The San Francisco-based cryptocurrency exchange, Kraken, has expanded its trading offerings to include stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and forex (FX) perpetual futures. Announced on a Monday, customers in select U.S. states can now trade over 11,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs, marking the beginning of a phased national rollout that aims to include more states and extend internationally to markets such as the UK, Europe, and Australia.

On Friday, Kraken further revealed the launch of FX perpetual futures on its derivatives platform, starting with offerings for the EUR/USD and GBP/USD pairs, which feature leverage of up to 20 times. Kraken has established a significant footprint in the FX spot market with customers trading approximately $5.4 billion this year, predominantly in these currency pairs.

This expansion occurs as Kraken prepares for an initial public offering (IPO) anticipated in the first quarter of 2026. Moreover, Kraken recently navigated regulatory challenges, with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reportedly agreeing in principle to dismiss its lawsuit regarding the operation of its crypto trading platform as an unregistered securities exchange.

It is important for investors to conduct thorough research before engaging in high-risk investments, including cryptocurrencies and digital assets. Kraken’s recent expansions highlight its growing role in the financial market while reminding users that all trades and transfers are undertaken at their own risk.
