Bitcoin Peaks Near $96K While TRUMP Coin Rises 20% Amid Big News

Bitcoin hit a two-month peak close to $96,000 before easing back to just below $95,000, while meme coin TRUMP jumped over 20% amid news of a potential dinner with the US President. Meanwhile, Bitcoin SV led among altcoins with a 31% rise, followed by strong performances from WLD and BONK.

Bitcoin has continued its recent upward momentum, reaching a two-month high of nearly $96,000 before correcting slightly. On Friday, the cryptocurrency cooled to just below the $95K mark after a strong week of trading. In fact, since the start of the week, it jumped from around $84,000 to exceed $87,000, breaking through a key resistance level that had confined it for some time.

The price rally didn’t stop there; BTC surged past $90,000 by Tuesday and hit $93,000 by Wednesday, before facing minor resistance and dropping to $92,000 briefly. However, this dip was short-lived, as it showed resilience and made another push upwards. The current market cap for Bitcoin now stands at approximately $1.88 trillion, as its dominance among alternative coins has dipped slightly to 61.2%.

Meanwhile, the TRUMP meme coin is also enjoying significant gains. News broke that holders of the top 220 TRUMP tokens might get an exclusive invite to dinner with the US President, which sparked a buying frenzy. In just one day, TRUMP’s price increased by over 20%, bringing its current value close to $15, and it has essentially doubled in value over the past week.

Although Bitcoin SV has been the standout performer today with a staggering 31% spike in market cap, TRUMP and other coins are also making waves. WLD is up by 24%, while BONK rounds out the top three with a 22% increase. Other larger-cap altcoins seem to trade more steadily right now, though SHIB and PEPE stood out with solid gains, along with DOGE and XLM in the green.
