Bitcoin Needs to Surge to $500,000 for 0.01 BTC to Hit $5,000

Bitcoin is showing a recovery after recent price rises, climbing to $96,743. For a fraction of 0.01 BTC to reach $5,000, Bitcoin needs to surge to $500,000. This figure has prompted some bullish forecasts from prominent figures, although these remain speculative. Investors are advised to do their homework before making any financial moves.

Bitcoin’s price landscape is generating buzz as bullish predictions gain traction. In recent weeks, the cryptocurrency has shown signs of recovery, beginning with a 2.7% spike on April 21, briefly touching the $88,000 threshold. This uptick continued, hitting $93,000 the following day, marking the first time BTC reached this level in two months with a notable 6.83% intraday increase.

As April wrapped up, there was a pause in this rally, but it resumed on May 1 with Bitcoin climbing 2.5%. Although it dipped slightly below $97,000, trading at $96,743 as of this writing, the outlook remains optimistic among investors. This expectation is driven in part by some ambitious price forecasts that suggest Bitcoin could skyrocket in value.

Market expert Peter Brandt recently mentioned that BTC might soar within the $120,000 to $150,000 range by late 2025. This prospect has sparked increased accumulation, particularly among retail investors. Those with holdings of 0.001 to 0.01 BTC, along with those owning between 0.01 and 0.1 BTC, have been steadily increasing their stakes.

By the end of last year, these addresses collectively held 309,000 BTC, which has now risen to 310,650 BTC in 2024—a gain of 1,650 BTC valued at about $159.6 million. As these investors stockpile, they await the price surges predicted.

The Crypto Basic recently calculated how much Bitcoin would need to rise for a mere 0.01 BTC—currently worth around $967—to balloon to $5,000. It turns out Bitcoin would have to hit the monumental price of $500,000 for this to happen. In this scenario, 0.1 BTC would then be valued at $50,000. This figure highlights just how far Bitcoin’s price needs to leap; at its recent value of $96,743, this represents a staggering increase of 416.8%.

There are some notable figures supporting this bullish view. Robert Kiyosaki, author of “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, claims Bitcoin could reach $500,000 in 2025. Matt Hougan from Bitwise stated that Bitcoin is still in its early stages of growth until it hits that mark. There’s also Michaël van de Poppe who expects a peak between $300,000 and $500,000 by year-end, and venture investor Chamath Palihapitiya shares similar sentiment about a potential rally to $500,000 this year. However, all these predictions remain speculative and should be taken with a grain of caution.
