John Bollinger warns of impersonation scams in the crypto world, with fraudsters creating fake companies and soliciting investments, resulting in significant losses for victims. He highlights that scammers have even produced counterfeit versions of his book, amplifying concerns around trust in the trading community.
Renowned trader John Bollinger has raised an alarm over crypto scams, revealing a concerning trend where fraudsters impersonate him. These scammers, masquerading as associates of Bollinger, aim to exploit unsuspecting individuals seeking investment advice. They’ve even gone as far as creating counterfeit versions of Bollinger’s acclaimed book “Bollinger on Bollinger Bands,” first published back in 2001.
The fraudulent operation, which uses the name Diamond Ridge Asset Management, appears to be entirely fictitious. After establishing a deceptive rapport with their targets, these scammers proceed to pitch fraudulent investment opportunities, convincing individuals to part with their money. Notably, one unfortunate victim reportedly lost up to $60,000 due to these tricks. It’s a stark reminder of the need for vigilance in the crypto sphere.
Bollinger expressed his frustration, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation. “It is also copyright infringement, but that is another story. Never, never accept solicitations on ‘my’ behalf!” he cautioned, highlighting the importance of caution when it comes to unsolicited investment offers. Investors are advised to verify any claims made and to stay alert against such scams that tarnish the reputation of genuine trading professionals.
