Mayor Eric Adams will speak at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas, a week after the NYC Crypto Summit, promoting cryptocurrency as a booster for economic growth. He will address topics like decentralized finance at the event. Questions about the trip’s funding remain unanswered, but City Hall claims it’s official business.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is heading to Las Vegas to speak at the Bitcoin 2025 conference. Scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, he’ll join a lineup of notable figures including tech entrepreneur Bryan Johnson and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. The announcement came from his office late Tuesday,
which revealed that Adams, one of over 400 speakers, has been strongly advocating for cryptocurrency as a catalyst for economic stimulation.

The Las Vegas gig follows closely after Adams hosted the first-ever Crypto Summit in New York City, where he reiterated his commitment to the crypto economy. He expressed enthusiasm during his opening remarks at the summit, saying, “I smell money, crypto, crypto, blockchain and all the good things. Thank all of you for gracing us with your presence.”

At the upcoming conference, Adams is slated to speak Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. His seminar, titled “The Trust Layer & the Divine Algorithm,” aims to address concepts such as decentralized ethical artificial intelligence (DEAI) and decentralized finance (DeFi). It promises to tackle intricate issues surrounding trust architecture in these emerging technologies.

Additionally, it’s been reported that Vice President J.D. Vance will also deliver a keynote at the conference. His participation comes after a significant fundraiser in Las Vegas, adding to the event’s star-studded appeal.

Concern over the funding of the trip has been raised, as inquiries to Adams’ office regarding the use of taxpayer dollars have gone unanswered. However, the New York Post noted that City Hall stated the trip qualifies as “official business for his duties as mayor.” This story remains in development and more information may be forthcoming.
