Key products include the Bitwise Physical Bitcoin, which has gained 695.7% since 2020, and Bitwise Core Bitcoin, up 33.9% since last April. However, Bitwise Physical Ethereum and Ethereum Staking ETPs have underperformed. Bitwise plans to expand its crypto product offerings in response to investor demand.

Bitwise has recently announced the listing of four crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) on the London Stock Exchange as of 16 April. These products will be exclusively available for institutional investors, with head of Bitwise Europe, Bradley Duke, noting a notable trend in the increasing allocation to digital assets among this group. He highlighted that investing in cryptocurrency is becoming mainstream, emphasising the growing commitment of institutional investors towards it.

Among the listed ETPs, Bitwise Physical Bitcoin stands out as the longest-running option for UK investors, having been available in Germany since mid-2020. This product has demonstrated a significant performance with a net asset value increase of 695.7% since its inception, providing exposure to Bitcoin in a physically-backed manner. With assets under management valuing at $1.1 billion, it ranks as one of the largest and most liquid crypto ETPs in Europe, frequently utilised by traders seeking flexible exposure.

Additionally, the Bitwise Core Bitcoin ETP has been made accessible to UK investors, achieving an impressive growth of 33.9% since its launch in Germany in April last year. In contrast, Bitwise Physical Ethereum, the firm’s second longest-running product, has had a less favourable performance, with a slight decline of 0.4% since its early 2021 launch and a significant drop of 53.2% forecasted for 2025. This product is directly complemented by the Bitwise Ethereum Staking ETP, which has seen a decrease of 40.6% since its introduction in January last year.

Duke reiterated Bitwise’s commitment to expand its offerings, aiming to cater to the growing demand among institutional investors for crypto products. He emphasised that Bitwise delivers secure and transparent investment options, supported by a knowledgeable team attuned to the market dynamics and investor requirements. The firm aims to continuously innovate its product range through ongoing dialogue with investors to adapt to the fast-evolving cryptocurrency landscape.
