Michael Saylor’s Strategy, noted for being a significant corporate Bitcoin holder, has recently acquired 6,556 BTC valued at $555.8 million, with trades occurring between April 14 and April 20. This move, highlighted in a Form 8-K filing to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, saw purchases made at an average price of $84,785 per Bitcoin.

As of April 20, this latest acquisition constitutes 1.2% of Strategy’s overall Bitcoin holdings, which amount to 538,200 BTC acquired for approximately $36.5 billion at an average price of $67,766 per BTC. The funding for this transaction originated from proceeds generated from Common ATM and STRK ATM stock offerings.

Funding was also sourced from the sale of 1,755,000 shares of Strategy, yielding $547.7 million, alongside 91,213 shares of Series A preferred stock sold for $7.8 million. This acquisition marks a strategic expansion following a notable purchase of 3,459 BTC reported on April 14, which was the firm’s first Bitcoin buy since March 31.

Prior to this latest buying spree, the firm refrained from purchasing Bitcoin from March 31 to April 6, diverging from its regular acquisition schedule amid a decline in Bitcoin prices, which had dipped below $87,000. In 2025 alone, Strategy has purchased 91,800 Bitcoin, representing 17% of its total BTC portfolios. Updates will continue to emerge as this story develops.
